Starting Frizinghall Primary School
If your child is starting nursery or reception, we will send you details of the meetings for parents and visits for children. Information packs will be provided at these events. A member of the Parent Partnership Team will call you within the first few weeks of school to introduce themselves and to answer any questions.
Please contact school if you are unable to attend so that alternative arrangements can be made.
If your child is starting school after September or in years other than nursery and reception, we will:
• Support you with the completion of the paper work
• Explain the Home-School Agreement
• Take you on a tour of the school
• Introduce you to the Parent Partnership Team
• Provide key information e.g. Parent Pay, school apps, term time dates and times of the school day
Transition through Frizinghall Primary School
At the end of the school year, we will inform you about your child’s new class and arrangements for meeting your child’s new teacher. Children will also have the opportunity to meet their new teacher and work in their new classroom.
At the start of the new school year, a parent event will be organised and this will give you another opportunity to meet the teacher. You will also be able to visit the new classroom and find out about class routines, the curriculum and other relevant information.

Leaving Frizinghall Primary School Year 6
At the beginning of the year, the Year 6 Parent Event will focus on preparing for SATs and transition to secondary school. The Parent Partnership Team will be happy to help with any application questions and to support you through the application process. Mr Ruddock will be available to support the application process for parents of children with SEND. (The transition process for children with an EHCP starts in the spring term of year 5.) In the summer term, we will liaise with the secondary school to support a smooth transition in September.

Leaving Before the end of Year 6
If your child is leaving school before the end of year 6, please speak to the Parent Partnership Team. They will be able to help you with any questions you have about applying for a new school place.
